ASHLEY BOURGEOIS

Growing up as an only child, I always had to find ways to keep myself occupied and that usually led to creative activities such as creating paper pets and habitats for them to live in or making outfits for my dolls out of anything i could find. I work well alone, but being with others allows me to expand my ideas further. I love to experiment and study different medias while learning new techniques along the way. In my spare time I like to read and try new coffee recipes.

Bougie Hamburger Typeface

The modular typeface, Bougie Hamburgers, was created to portray the emotion “livid”.  The modules were created with the intention of the letter forms staying smaller at the bottom and expanding outwards as it goes up, expressing the sense of anger building up to become livid. The type itself references the titles of 60s B Movie posters. Bougie Hamburger serves as a display type for movie posters and promotional ads.

French Roast Festival Branding

This is a branding campaign about celebrating the history of coffee in New Orleans to create an identity system for a coffee festival. Many media studies were done to create an identity. In pulling them together to create a cohesive system, the style had to be considered carefully to relate back to a sense of community by bringing people together.

Twister Mask Monster Mash

In collaboration with third graders, a typeface was created based on their monster names and descriptions. Twister Mask was described to be tall and muscular. It also lived under water and had a green glow around it.
